The China warehousing index jointly surveyed by China federation of logistics and purchasing and China storage development co., ltd. was 52.0% in September 2019, down 2.3 percentage points from the previous month. All sub-indexes except the enterprise employees index remained in expansion range. From the change of the index, there was a slight decline this month, but it was still in the expansion range, indicating that the warehousing business maintained rapid growth and the industry continued to develop well.
Business demand remains strong. The business volume index was 57.5% in September, down 1.3 percentage points from the previous month. Although the index fell, but two months of high running, indicating that storage business demand is still relatively strong. On the one hand, due to the recent intensive introduction of favorable domestic policies, increased counter-cyclical adjustment efforts, continued expansion of domestic demand, accelerated growth of infrastructure investment, leading to a significant rebound in the storage demand for steel, building materials and other bulk commodities. On the other hand, affected by the Mid-Autumn festival National Day, the demand for food, daily necessities and other related to people's livelihood has also picked up.
The average turnover efficiency and water storage have been improved. In September, the inventory turnover index was 53.2%, up 1.5 percentage points from the previous month, and it was above the line of expansion and contraction for two consecutive months, indicating that the efficiency of commodity turnover was significantly improved under the background of strong demand and active warehousing business. The ending inventory index was 50.8%, down 3.8 percentage points. The index, though down slightly, is still above the boom-bust line, reflecting that inventories continue to rise, albeit at a slower pace than last month.
The charge price rises obviously. In September, the fee price index rose 1.0 percent to 53.4%, the highest level in more than four years. Main business cost index was 53.8%, although down 0.6 percentage points, but still at a high level. The increase in the charging price of warehousing business indicates that the demand for business is strong, and at the same time, it also reflects the shortage of land supply for warehousing and the high price, which leads to the great cost pressure of warehousing enterprises.
Employment is down again. In September, the index fell 2.8 percentage points to 49.6 percent, once again entering contraction territory. Under the background of active business activities, the number of employees declined, indicating that with the application of intelligent storage facilities, the enterprise's demand for employees also declined.
Afternoon expectations remain optimistic. In September, the new orders index was 54.9%, down 3.1 percentage points from the previous month. The index of expected business activity was 55.6%, down 2.8 percentage points from the previous month. Both indexes remained high. Downward pressure in response to the economy, countries have to do a good job of "six stability" in a more prominent position, especially in infrastructure investment, the deployment of the big four special issued new measures to speed up local government bonds, demand for warehousing industry especially commodity warehousing has a solid support, the enterprise began to put a stock, also have a role in demand for consumer goods storage, warehousing industry is expected in the short term future demand is still relatively optimistic.
